## Job Description

## Responsibilities

### Supplier Qualification and Readiness
- Lead quality qualification of power and cooling equipment suppliers through on-site process audits, capability assessments, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
- Translate engineering specifications into inspection and test plans (ITPs), acceptance criteria, witness/hold points, and documentation requirements.
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing to incorporate quality requirements, supplier quality agreements, and factory acceptance test (FAT) expectations into RFPs and contracts.

### Factory Acceptance and In-Process Quality
- Plan, witness, and approve FATs for switchgear, UPS, transformers, generators, busway, PDUs, chillers, CDUs, CRAH/fan walls, dry coolers, pumps, and piping skids.
- Conduct in-process and pre-shipment inspections to verify build-to-print conformance, workmanship, labeling, and traceability.
- Review supplier test reports, quality data packages, and turnover documentation to ensure equipment is complete and installation-ready.

### Nonconformance and Corrective Action
- Own factory nonconformance and deviation processes, including containment, disposition, and root-cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, and fault-tree methods.
- Drive supplier corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to verified closure with measurable, sustained improvement.
- Investigate field-reported manufacturing defects and incorporate lessons learned into supplier requirements, ITPs, and RFPs.

### Metrics and Continuous Improvement
- Define and track supplier quality KPIs, including first-pass FAT yield, defect rate, NCR aging, documentation timeliness, and supplier scorecards.
- Apply SPC and statistical analysis to supplier process data to identify systemic risk before FATs.
- Build quality frameworks for a multi-supplier, multi-region equipment pipeline, including templates, checklists, audit standards, and operating rhythms.

## Requirements
- 6–10+ years of quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or supplier quality experience in electrical or mechanical equipment manufacturing, mission-critical infrastructure, or a comparable regulated/high-consequence industry.
- Hands-on experience with medium-/low-voltage switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers, busway, chillers, CDUs, air handlers, or pumps, with the ability to learn additional equipment domains.
- Experience planning and witnessing FATs and conducting supplier audits, including judgment on shipment holds and deviations.
- Fluency in 8D, root-cause analysis, FMEA, SPC, control plans, and PPAP or equivalent methods.
- Ability to read electrical one-lines, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings and verify builds against them.
- Strong technical writing skills for ITPs, audit reports, and NCR packages.
- Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments and communicate clearly with engineers, suppliers, and leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.

## Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with hyperscale or AI data center equipment supply chains or OFCI delivery models.
- Familiarity with liquid-cooling systems, including CDUs, manifolds, quick disconnects, and cleanliness, pressure, and leak-test requirements.
- Working knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558, UL 1778, IEEE C37, NEMA, AHRI 550/590, ASHRAE 90.4, ASME B31.x, and ISO 9001 auditing.
- ASQ CQE/CQA, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or lead-auditor certification.
- Experience establishing a supplier quality function or QMS.
- Proficiency with QMS/ERP platforms and data tools such as SQL and Power BI.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD.
- Hybrid policy: staff are generally expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more.
- Travel is approximately 40–60% to supplier and integrator factories, with occasional active construction-site visits.
