## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with local elected officials, government agencies, economic development organizations, community groups, civic leaders, educational institutions, and workforce partners in data center markets.
- Develop and execute community engagement strategies across site selection, pre-development, construction, and ongoing operations.
- Build coalitions, host education and listening sessions, and design local community-benefit solutions.
- Represent Anthropic in public forums, town halls, planning hearings, community events, and local media.
- Monitor community sentiment and local political dynamics; advise internal teams on risks, opportunities, and engagement posture.
- Partner with Real Estate, Infrastructure, Communications, Energy, and Sustainability teams to incorporate community input and communicate project plans.
- Coordinate charitable giving, community investment, economic development commitments, and nonprofit relationships.
- Build scalable community engagement playbooks and processes.
- Travel regularly within the region, up to 50% of the time, with occasional travel to other data center markets.

## Requirements
- Experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, government relations, local or regional government, or a related field.
- Direct experience engaging local governments and community stakeholders on large infrastructure, construction, energy, or technology projects.
- Strong relationship-building, coalition-building, public speaking, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex operational plans in clear, accessible language.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent engagements across markets.
- Based in Texas or willing to relocate there.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

## Nice-to-haves
- 7+ years of community engagement experience involving data centers, utilities, energy, large-scale industrial infrastructure, or local government.
- Familiarity with local and regional land use, zoning, and permitting processes.
- Experience managing corporate social responsibility programs.
- Relationships with economic development, workforce, or civic organizations.
- Experience working with real estate, legal, communications, and policy teams.

## Compensation
- Annual salary: **$265,000–$295,000 USD**.
