## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead the technical customer-facing organization in India, reporting to APAC Customer Engineering leadership, and build a high-performing, AI-augmented technical go-to-market team that drives new business, adoption, retention, and expansion.
- Lead and develop the India Customer Engineering team across enterprise and strategic accounts as a player-coach.
- Provide technical leadership for complex customer architecture, escalations, and solution design.
- Own regional technical strategy for discovery, demos, architecture design, proofs of concept, onboarding support, QBRs, renewals, and expansion.
- Partner with Account Executives on technical validation and new-business opportunities.
- Balance workloads and support onboarding of new team members.
- Conduct 1:1s, provide feedback, and coach team members on discovery, solution architecture, executive communication, and business-value translation.
- Establish operating cadences for pipeline inspection, technical deal support, adoption reviews, and account expansion planning.
- Hire, retain, and develop Customer Engineering talent; build succession plans and bench strength.
- Coordinate with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support to resolve issues and keep customers moving.
- Surface regional feedback, product gaps, and competitive insight to Product and Engineering.
- Represent Cloudflare in executive customer meetings, regional events, and partner discussions.

## Requirements and Experience
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering.
- People leadership experience, including second-line leadership, hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Experience working with enterprise customers in India or APAC.
- Broad technical knowledge across security, networking, cloud infrastructure, enterprise architecture, and developer platforms.
- Commercial mindset with experience in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned motions.
- Strong executive presence and ability to connect technical depth with business outcomes.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, AI-enabled operating model.
- Experience with hyperscaler ecosystems or cybersecurity vendors.
- Coding or scripting fluency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.

## Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Cloudflare’s developer stack, especially Workers AI and AI Gateway.
- Applied AI experience, including prompt engineering, LLM orchestration, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Certifications such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Palo Alto, ISC2, or ISACA.
