## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead the teams responsible for employee transitions, terminations, and AI-assisted HR workflows.
- Define product and technical strategy for AI-assisted employee-change workflows, including intent understanding, information gathering, approvals, execution, human oversight, transparency, and auditability.
- Connect agents to durable workflow execution, company policy, employee context, permissions, approvals, and observable outcomes.
- Establish trust models, explainability, safe failure modes, human checkpoints, and complete audit trails for high-stakes actions.
- Scale transition and termination workflows for complex enterprise organizations, global policies, employment types, countries, connected systems, and bulk operations.
- Improve performance, availability, correctness, observability, asynchronous processing, and recovery.
- Partner with enterprise customers and go-to-market teams to identify operational edge cases and shape the product and platform roadmap.
- Modernize architecture while continuing to deliver customer-facing improvements.
- Lead and develop a 15-person organization, including managers, senior individual contributors, and emerging leaders.
- Clarify ownership, decision rights, quality standards, and operating rhythms across the organization.
- Hire and retain talent, strengthen the leadership bench, and align product, design, data, AI, and engineering.
- Represent the organization in company-level planning and balance customer commitments, foundational investments, and long-term initiatives.

## Requirements
- Experience as an Engineering Director or equivalent leader overseeing a multi-team product engineering organization.
- Experience leading through managers and senior technical leaders and developing leadership capacity.
- Experience owning high-stakes, workflow-heavy products or platforms involving correctness, permissions, policy, auditability, and integrations.
- Experience scaling products for complex enterprise customers with operational edge cases and cross-functional dependencies.
- Strong product judgment and technical depth, including architecture evaluation, sequencing, migration risk, and platform investment trade-offs.
- Experience delivering a major product or system transformation while continuing to ship customer-facing improvements.
- Experience with AI agents, AI-assisted workflows, decision automation, workflow orchestration, or intelligent enterprise products.
- Experience with HR, payroll, benefits, IT, identity, finance, compliance, or employee-system domains.
- Experience with global products requiring country-specific policies, permissions, localization, and audit requirements.
- Experience building platforms for bulk operations, asynchronous workflows, observability, and recovery.

## Compensation
- $216,000–$378,000 USD per year, based on the applicable US location tier.
