## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend systems and core data-processing pipelines that derive actionable insights from terabytes of audio data daily.
- Architect and maintain APIs and services powering features used by thousands of users.
- Build, deploy, and evaluate LLM- and DSP-based solutions to improve customers’ understanding of nuanced dataset features.
- Iterate on research hypotheses with researchers and Operations by deploying backend infrastructure that supports new data collection.
- Apply emerging technologies across backend engineering, data engineering, machine learning, and signal processing.

## Requirements
- 2+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong backend fundamentals, including designing scalable systems, APIs, and high-volume data pipelines.
- Proven track record delivering engineering solutions that create customer value.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment requiring detail-oriented execution.
- Focus on robust, reliable infrastructure for polished, production-grade products.
- AI/ML or audio experience is not required, but enthusiasm for learning is expected.

## Nice-to-haves
- Educational or professional experience with digital signal processing and a deep understanding of speech.
- Experience building and deploying machine learning models in production.
- Experience leading or technically leading engineering teams in high-growth environments.
