## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own organic growth across Google and AI assistants, including cluster strategy, page production, technical health, link acquisition, and results in traffic, rankings, and paid subscribers.
- Lead the SEO team, establish standards for briefs, templates, reviews, quality, and delivery, and coach team members on AEO and AI-assisted workflows.
- Personally ship high-priority content clusters from keyword research through live pages.
- Build an AI-powered production system using prompts, templates, review criteria, and quality controls to publish hundreds of pages monthly.
- Own AEO and AI discovery measurement across tracked prompt sets and AI Overviews.
- Earn citations through comparison pages, structured Q&A, schema, original onsite data, YouTube, Reddit, and third-party roundups.
- Direct link acquisition, including target-page selection, anchor strategy, paid-link decisions, and quality review.
- Maintain technical SEO foundations as publishing scales; work with engineering, write actionable tickets, and prioritize SEO work against product work.
- Connect SEO performance to revenue by cluster and decide where investment should stop.

## Requirements
- 5–10 years of SEO experience, including ownership of organic growth for a site at significant scale.
- People-management experience with demonstrated team performance improvements.
- Hands-on experience conducting audits, analyzing data, and writing briefs.
- Experience shipping AI-assisted content at scale with systems for maintaining quality.
- Daily use of LLMs and agents, including connecting tools over MCP to retrieve data.
- Strong technical SEO fundamentals and real AEO experience or a well-developed AEO perspective.
- Strong data fluency, including SQL or BI tools.
- Based in the Bay Area or willing to relocate.

## Nice to Have
- Consumer or content-heavy platform experience.
- Programmatic page generation at scale.
- Experience managing teams across time zones.
- Digital PR and link-building experience for highly competitive head terms.
- International SEO experience.
