## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own and expand the Ramp AI Index, including new metrics for token spend and AI ROI.
- Extend economics research internationally and publish rigorous, accessible analysis for policymakers, researchers, businesses, the press, and the public.
- Build Ramp’s customer-facing economics function, including developing an economic outlook.
- Meet with customers and prospects and present findings to CFOs and finance teams.
- Translate Ramp’s data into practical recommendations for business planning, budgeting, and AI strategy.
- Move from important questions to credible analysis, clear visualizations or arguments, and actionable business advice.
- Produce research, writing, thought leadership, dashboards, and reports on short, non-academic timelines.

## Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience as a data scientist or economist.
- Strong perspectives on the economics of AI, economic policy, new media, and writing.
- Strong SQL knowledge, preferably with Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery, including efficient query writing.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker, Omni, Sigma, or Hex, and experience distributing insights through reports and dashboards.
- Strong research, writing, data visualization, and executive communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment using iterative technical solutions.
- Active interest in economics, business, and AI news and trends.
- Advanced use of AI for data science and strong visual and web-design judgment.
- Ability to communicate data clearly and engagingly with customers, prospects, CFOs, and finance teams.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience with the modern data stack, including Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, or Hightouch.
- Experience in payments or financial technology.
