## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Support engineering design, analysis, calculations, and specifications for facility fire and life safety systems.
- Develop building and fire code compliance documents and fire and life safety designs for launch facilities.
- Perform hazardous materials analysis for code compliance, including chemical classification, chemical quantity analysis, chemical inventory management, and related system design support.
- Support facility construction teams in developing field solutions.
- Support commissioning activities during pre-test and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) testing phases for facility builds.
- Conduct fire and life safety code reviews and analyses.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
- Review and comment on contractor-developed shop drawing design packages.
- Develop alternate means and methods (AM&M) for local AHJs to support performance-based design criteria and meet the intent of applicable codes.

## Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of experience designing and constructing fire protection systems and/or working in fire protection consulting.
- Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
- This onsite role is based in the Memphis, TN area.
- Willingness to travel for specific project needs; projects may require 50% or more travel for extended periods.

## Preferred Skills and Experience
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or successful completion of the Principles of Engineering exam.
- Working knowledge of building and fire codes and NFPA codes and standards.
- NICET certification in relevant fire protection programs.
- Ability to lead project design teams.
- Knowledge of OSHA compliance.
- FDS software modeling capabilities.
- Construction administration experience.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
