## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Stripe Hong Kong’s compliance strategy, aligned with global financial crime objectives and business goals.
- Act as the Responsible Officer (RC) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), owning and enhancing Hong Kong compliance programs.
- Ensure the financial crime program prevents, detects, and reports money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes.
- Report regularly to the Board of Directors on the health and effectiveness of compliance programs.
- Engage with Hong Kong regulators and serve as Stripe’s primary regulatory contact and representative.
- Represent Stripe in payments-industry forums and groups to help modernize fintech regulatory expectations.
- Build collaborative relationships with banks, payment networks, and third-party providers; educate partners on compliance controls and handle senior-level escalations.
- Oversee the compliance program and controls to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
- Advise stakeholders on product development and promote compliance by design.
- Define and iterate on Stripe Hong Kong’s risk appetite as the business enters new growth areas.
- Work with data teams to identify emerging financial crime patterns and validate detection-model effectiveness.

## Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in financial crime, preferably in financial services, fintech, or payments.
- Current knowledge of financial crime and relevant financial services laws and regulations in Hong Kong.
- Deep industry contacts and influence across the financial crime and payments sectors.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex regulatory concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- High data literacy and the ability to collaborate closely with data teams.
- Deep knowledge of the APAC region, preferably including Southeast Asia and/or India.

## Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
- Experience navigating regulatory guardrails in a high-growth environment.
- Professional fluency in Cantonese.
- CAMS or another relevant professional certification.
