## Job Description

## Responsibilities

- Conduct merchant screening reviews, including watchlist and keyword screening, as part of the sanctions program.
- Analyze and investigate accounts for exposure to listed persons and high-risk or prohibited jurisdictions.
- Apply complex regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services to investigations.
- Conduct in-depth open-source research using the web, corporate registries, governmental databases, and social media platforms.
- Assess sanctions and financial-crime risk based on investigative findings.
- Analyze complex problems and exercise sound judgment when resolving investigations and making decisions.
- Handle high-complexity assignments and requests from internal teams, financial partners, and other parties.
- Follow process documentation and draft clear, concise investigative summaries and analyses, including draft regulatory reports.

## Requirements

- 2+ years of experience in sanctions roles.
- Experience conducting in-depth open-source research across diverse information sources, including global social media platforms.
- General awareness of money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctions trends, and regulatory developments.
- Ability to independently analyze information from multiple data sources and determine appropriate action on matched cases.
- Ability to document decision rationales and supporting evidence clearly for analytical, presentation, and audit purposes.
- Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with complex investigations and data sets.
- Self-discipline, diligence, proactivity, and strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to periodically work a weekend day in exchange for a weekday off; shifts operate during daytime hours from morning through early evening.

## Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of the USA PATRIOT Act and U.S. Treasury/OFAC Code of Federal Regulations.
- Knowledge of UK HMT sanctions regulations and EU sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Directives.
- Experience or knowledge in payments and fintech.
- Familiarity with SQL and template or pre-built SQL queries used in investigations.
