## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Partner with Product and Engineering to provide pragmatic guidance across the product lifecycle, advising on data collection, retention, consent, and privacy-by-design.
- Own Parallel's privacy and data protection program, from policies and DPAs to data mapping and compliance across **GDPR**, **CCPA**, and emerging AI and state privacy laws.
- Build templates, playbooks, and self-service tools that scale the legal function.
- Negotiate DPAs and data licensing deals.

## Requirements
- ~**5+ years** of privacy, data protection, or product counseling experience (in-house or at a top firm).
- **J.D.** and active U.S. bar membership (**California** preferred).
- Technically fluent with data pipelines, anonymization, and zero-retention architectures.
- Sound judgment, curiosity about AI products, low-ego collaborative style.
