## Job Description

## Responsibilities

- Conduct decision reviews for Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP).
- Understand complex regulatory and compliance requirements within the financial services space and complete analyses in accordance with those requirements.
- Analyze complex problems and exercise sound analytical judgment on investigation resolutions and decisions.
- Perform high-complexity assignments and resolve incoming requests from internal teams, financial partners, and other parties.
- Follow process documentation closely and draft clear, concise investigative summaries and analyses, including draft regulatory reports for submission.
- Help build a new team and operational culture.

## Requirements

- 2+ years of experience in financial crimes, anti-money laundering (AML), EDD, or PEP roles.
- Experience conducting in-depth user KYC, nature-of-business, adverse-media, high-risk-country, and business-sector reviews in EDD workflows.
- Experience reviewing PEP and user-alert details, understanding mitigation factors, and making determinations and escalations.
- General awareness of money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctions trends, and regulatory developments.
- Ability to independently analyze and evaluate information from multiple data sources to determine a course of action for a matched case.
- Ability to clearly document the rationale and evidence behind decision-making about whether a match is positive or false for analytical, presentation, and audit purposes.
- Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, analyze problems and datasets, and make complex investigation decisions.
- Self-discipline, diligence, proactivity, and attention to detail.
- Availability for daytime shifts from morning through early evening.

## Nice-to-haves

- Knowledge of the payments and fintech industry.
- Familiarity with SQL and the ability to use template or pre-made SQL queries as part of investigations.
