## Job Description

## Responsibilities

- Design, develop, deploy, monitor, operate, and maintain existing or new elements of the Fulfillment tech stack.
- Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code.
- Understand and explain tradeoffs in technical decisions.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge.
- Lead projects from idea through execution.
- Proactively participate in resolving ongoing incidents.
- Unblock, support, communicate effectively, and obtain buy-in across teams.
- Share knowledge through brown bags, tech talks, and advocacy of engineering best practices.

## Requirements

- Bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of software engineering industry experience.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming.
- Experience designing, debugging, and operating fault-tolerant, highly available, large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in scripting languages for API-based automation.
- Experience with common CI tools such as Jenkins, Buildkite, CircleCI, or TeamCity, with proficiency in at least one.
- Solid knowledge of distributed systems, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to communicate in English in writing, meetings, and presentations.

## Compensation

- Expected base pay range for the Seattle area: **$128,000–$160,000** annually, excluding potential equity, bonus, and benefits.
- Hybrid role requiring in-office work three days per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
- Hybrid roles may work from anywhere for up to four weeks per year.
