## Job Description

## Responsibilities

- Advise marketing, brand, design, paid media, and product teams throughout the marketing lifecycle, providing practical real-time legal guidance.
- Guide the responsible use of advertising technology, tracking, and consumer data, including CCPA/CPRA, state privacy laws, PII, targeting, and ad-stack disclosures.
- Structure and negotiate creator, influencer, brand-collaboration, affiliate, partner-marketing, agency, vendor, talent, and production agreements.
- Advise on FTC endorsement and disclosure rules, usage and content rights, platform terms, affiliate disclosures, tracking, and payout structures.
- Design and review rewards programs, sweepstakes, contests, and promotions, including official rules, registration, bonding, and multistate compliance.
- Support production and content development, including talent releases, music and licensing, rights clearances, and production and vendor agreements.
- Partner with marketing and product teams on claim development, substantiation, puffery, comparative claims, and disclaimers.
- Use AI tools to accelerate contract review, marketing review workflows, knowledge management, and issue spotting while maintaining appropriate controls and confidentiality.
- Build lightweight processes and self-service guidance that help marketing move quickly while remaining compliant.

## Requirements

- J.D. and active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
- 8+ years of legal experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house, including at least 6 years focused on marketing, advertising, and/or ad tech law.
- Deep experience with advertising and consumer-protection law, including the FTC Act and UDAAP.
- Expertise in promotions and sweepstakes, endorsement and influencer rules, affiliate marketing, advertising-related privacy, CCPA/CPRA, state privacy laws, PII, and ad tech/tracking.
- Experience working directly with C-suite and executive leadership.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills across marketing-related agreements.
- Proficiency with AI tools and enthusiasm for thoughtful adoption.
- Practical, business-first judgment and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Clear communication across creative, technical, and legal audiences.

## Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in technology, fintech, or financial services, particularly marketing in a regulated industry.
- In-house experience at a high-growth consumer brand or platform.
