## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Shape and evolve Duolingo’s global growth strategy across acquisition and reactivation, recommending where investment should and should not go.
- Develop frameworks for sizing, measuring, and reviewing growth initiatives, including budget allocation, KPI and attribution methodology, and go/no-go or kill criteria.
- Partner with country marketing managers to pressure-test campaign proposals and align on goals, budget sizing, and measurement.
- Build entry strategies for new markets and support country teams through launch planning and early results.
- Run forums where growth cases are rigorously reviewed before launch and results are assessed afterward.
- Manage and develop a small team as the function scales.
- Turn cross-market results into actionable learnings and feed them into planning cycles.
- Translate data for marketing leadership through clear recommendations and portfolio-level updates.
- Mentor team members and partners on problem framing, measurement, and forecasting.

## Requirements
- 8+ years in strategic consulting, consumer strategy, growth marketing, or a related function, including experience shaping growth strategy for a consumer brand at scale.
- Track record of driving growth strategy and contributing to measurable outcomes.
- Experience managing or developing people, or readiness to take on a first direct report.
- Strong analytical judgment and fluency in experimentation, KPI and attribution design, incrementality, and structured problem solving.
- Ability to distinguish correlation from causation and meaningful signals from persuasive narratives.
- Experience collaborating with and influencing senior cross-functional and international partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including clear, decision-ready recommendations for marketing leadership.
- Ability to move between long-range strategy and hands-on detail in a fast-moving environment.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: **$163,200–$244,800 USD**.
- Base salary is supplemented by equity compensation.
