## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to engage proactively and reactively with federally elected officials, Congressional staff, third party groups, regulatory agencies, and the Administration on issues affecting Block.
- Serve as a registered lobbyist for Block, spending significant time engaging with policymakers on Capitol Hill or in the Administration.
- Find creative, proactive ways to engage with elected stakeholders to deliver key messaging on issues of importance.
- Maintain fluency on a wide variety of regulatory and policy issues including financial regulation, consumer protection, trade, tax, digital assets, AI/machine learning, and privacy.
- Track key legislative and regulatory activity, and develop strategies to achieve positive policy outcomes.
- Drive processes to develop thoughtful, inclusive, and cohesive responses to incoming policy hurdles.
- Support and collaborate with colleagues across the US Policy Team.

## Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in federal government relations, with a preference for experience in the financial services and technology sectors on Capitol Hill or within an Executive Agency.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; ability to effectively explain complicated issues and policy positions to any audience.
- Experience navigating complex policy issues.
- Ability to be adaptable to changing timelines and prioritize effectively.
- Avid user of AI and eagerness to learn more about technology and innovation.
- Experience working collaboratively across internal functions.
- Entrepreneurial style and comfort working in fast-paced environments.
- Impeccable ethics and high integrity.
