## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Taking ownership of well-scoped features and delivering them from implementation through production
- Building and maintaining backend services within a distributed microservices architecture
- Contributing to data-intensive applications, including real-time transaction decisioning, stream-processing, and machine learning
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to a culture of engineering quality
- Contributing to engineering best practices including testing, monitoring, and documentation
- Collaborating with product, data, and business stakeholders to ship features that directly impact members

## Requirements
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, with backend experience using a JVM language, preferably Java
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design principles
- Experience with RDBMS or NoSQL databases
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills

## Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with cloud-hosted services, like AWS or GCP

## Compensation and Benefits
