## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Run the monthly revenue close for enterprise committed usage, self-serve consumption, and direct entries; reconcile activity to the general ledger.
- Own contract liability and deferred revenue schedules by customer and contract, tied to source data and the GL.
- Apply ASC 606 policies covering material rights, breakage, standalone selling price and allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications, and gross-versus-net conclusions.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue and deferred-revenue flux analyses, metrics, and variance explanations.
- Manage and develop a revenue accountant while maintaining preparer-reviewer segregation of duties and management review controls.
- Define usage-to-billing-to-GL reconciliation requirements, tolerances, exception handling, and tooling expectations.
- Serve as the day-to-day revenue contact for auditors; prepare PBC packages, walkthroughs, and audit support.
- Design revenue controls with clear owners, frequencies, evidence, and audit-ready operating history.
- Partner with Deal Desk, Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Engineering on contract terms, credits, overage mechanics, and revenue tooling.
- Lead the revenue workstream for a platform migration, including requirements, close-process design, data migration, cutover reconciliations, and parallel-run validation.
- Build AI-enabled tooling for term extraction, classification, reconciliation matching, anomaly detection, schedule generation, variance narratives, and PBC assembly.

## Requirements
- 7+ years of accounting experience, primarily in revenue accounting, including ownership of a monthly or quarterly close and review of another accountant’s work.
- Hands-on ASC 606 experience in a consumption or drawdown model involving prepaid commitments, credits, overage, and renewals.
- Deep knowledge of material rights, breakage and forfeiture estimation, standalone selling price and allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications, contract liabilities, and gross-versus-net assessment.
- Ability to perform data analysis using SQL, Python, or a clearly documented spreadsheet methodology.
- Regular use of LLMs and an informed understanding of appropriate AI use in close processes, term extraction, reconciliation matching, and anomaly detection.
- Strong review, coaching, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
