## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product and Design to shape product strategy and prioritize high-impact solutions.
- Improve team efficiency and engineering velocity while maintaining quality, maintainability, and reliability.
- Guide architecture and technical decisions, balancing trade-offs and anticipating future issues.
- Drive operational excellence across reliability, performance, cost efficiency, design consistency, and maintainable code.
- Promote team engagement, employee happiness, continuous skill development, and professional growth.
- Mentor engineers, provide constructive feedback, and support direct reports.
- Perform hands-on technical work, including code reviews, debugging, and implementation.
- Participate in hiring and attract engineering talent.

## Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, such as Engineering Manager or Tech Lead, in consumer-facing fintech, with a record of successful product delivery and team growth.
- 8+ years of experience in web systems development.
- Ability to mentor engineers, manage performance, and build motivated, engaged teams.
- Strong technical acumen, including architectural decision-making, technical debt management, and engineering standards.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, including risk anticipation and delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts and facilitating project launches.
- Recruiting experience and the ability to evaluate engineering candidates.
- Collaborative, empathetic leadership style emphasizing humility, feedback, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort in an early- to mid-stage startup environment.
- First-principles approach to evaluating problems, processes, and technical solutions.
