## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Learn to operate the robotics software stack, including recording, sanding control, and point cloud/inspection tools.
- Execute structured Design of Experiments (DOE) trials for robotic adaptive sanding on production systems.
- Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot robotic sanding and inspection cells.
- Collect, organize, and validate force, point cloud, spindle, and robot motion logs.
- Control variables, ensure repeatability, and perform noise-floor validation checks.
- Document trial results, deviations, and observations accurately.
- Partner with SAEs, Tech Leads, and PIs to translate trial results into process improvements.
- Rotate across process engineering, mechanical/tooling, and software workflows.
- Take ownership of trial documentation and, with increasing competency, defined portions of the sanding process.

## Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or an in-progress or completed master's degree, in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
- Hands-on experience with physical robotic or mechanical systems through coursework, internships, co-ops, capstone projects, or research.
- Ability to execute structured experiments or processes with high attention to detail.
- Familiarity with basic scripting and data analysis using Python or similar tools.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to document technical findings and procedures.
- Excellent analytical skills and curiosity about how processes work.
- U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, in accordance with U.S. export regulations.

## Nice-to-haves
- Design of Experiments or statistical process analysis.
- ROS or ROS2.
- Point cloud, force, or other 3D sensor data.
- 6DOF robot arms.
- CAD, including SolidWorks, or hands-on manufacturing/shop experience.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000–$135,000.
