## Job Description

## Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end pricing of complex reinsurance treaties, including assumption development, cash flow projection, and risk/return optimization.
- Develop, oversee, and enhance actuarial models, set methodology standards, and drive continuous improvement through dedicated project work.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations for internal and external audiences.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert supporting the creation and maintenance of appropriate pricing risk governance controls.
- Collaborate with reinsurance, data science, engineering, and security experts to shape suitable data-driven solutions.
- Act as an ambassador for the actuarial team, fostering a solutions-driven approach and meeting stakeholder needs.

## Requirements

- 8+ years of experience in insurance pricing, including at least 4+ years in reinsurance.
- ACAS or FCAS certification.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives.
- Undergraduate degree in actuarial science or a related field.
- Strong understanding of actuarial pricing and various reinsurance treaty structures.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems in a structured, data-driven way.
- Strategic and operational thinking, balancing short-term delivery with long-term business outcomes.
- Ability to influence partners and build strong relationships.
- Ability to develop, assess, and monitor business metrics and use insights to optimize pricing proposals.

## Nice-to-haves

- Pricing experience in cyber insurance or reinsurance.
- Experience building and monitoring advanced pricing frameworks.
- Experience working with external regulators, carriers, and brokers.

## Compensation and Benefits

- In Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario, the base salary ranges from $170,600 to $220,600 per year.
- In all other Canadian locations, the base salary ranges from $144,500 to $194,500 per year.
