## Job Description

## Responsibilities

### Customer Success
- Provide technical support to customers experiencing database and platform issues.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
- Understand customer use cases and optimize their implementations.
- Manage customer cases from beginning to end.

### Database Excellence
- Troubleshoot and optimize PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB performance issues.
- Implement database solutions, including hypertables, compression strategies, and continuous aggregates.
- Analyze complex query execution plans and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Apply best practices for backups, restores, and migrations.
- Develop PL/pgSQL procedures for data operations.
- Test new database features related to TimescaleDB and Agentic PostgreSQL.

### Platform and Infrastructure
- Investigate issues across the full stack, from the application layer to database internals.
- Integrate and troubleshoot platform features.

### Internal Collaboration
- Support Solutions and Customer Delivery teams with debugging across product features.
- Partner with Engineering teams to identify root causes of complex issues.
- Share knowledge across teams to enable faster customer issue resolution.

### Innovation and Growth
- Use AI to accelerate work.
- Contribute to platform improvements based on customer needs.
- Stay current with PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, and cloud technology advancements.
- Document knowledge for the support team.

## Requirements
- Strong PostgreSQL knowledge, including query optimization, indexing strategies, execution plans, and database internals.
- Proficiency with command-line interfaces.
- SQL expertise, including complex queries, window functions, CTEs, and PL/pgSQL.
- Performance analysis using logs and metrics to identify bottlenecks.
- Experience with TimescaleDB or other relational databases.
- Background in customer-facing technical roles.
- Curiosity about or experience with AI in databases.
- Ability to learn quickly across diverse technical domains.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with TimescaleDB is essential before applying and interviewing.

## Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS or Azure services and cloud architecture.
- Understanding of Kubernetes, including pods, services, and resource management.
- Experience using browser developer tools, including the browser console and Network tab, to diagnose frontend and API issues.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Full-time, permanent weekday role with priority for APAC time zones.
- Schedule: 5:00 AM–2:00 PM IST, Monday–Friday.
- Occasional on-call coverage may be required.
