## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and improve comprehensive fraud detection strategies, real-time fraud rules, and models, independently and in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Support cross-functional teams in building dashboards and tools to measure payment processes, operations, and new programs.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Data Science, Engineering, and Operations to resolve identity, integrity, and other fraud-related issues and escalations.
- Communicate complex information verbally and in writing to executive leadership, partners, and individual contributors.
- Report overall status, key business metrics, issues, recommendations, and plans to senior management and executives.
- Establish business cases and projected ROI for investments and prioritize fraud-program opportunities.
- Deliver enhancements to fraud detection and mitigation, communicating and prioritizing development with product management and engineering teams.
- Create robust, customer-friendly policies that reduce user friction while balancing fraud loss.

## Requirements
- 5+ years of experience across payment, marketplace, e-commerce, retail, digital media, or financial services industries; 8+ years for the Senior Analyst level.
- Fraud, payments, or identity experience, especially in merchant risk, is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or relevant work experience.
- Expertise in SQL, Python, or another programming language for querying data and performing analysis.
- Bias toward action and ability to resolve issues in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to execute projects independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong communication skills, including presenting and writing complex analyses clearly.
- Ability to prioritize competing projects and work effectively across departments.
- Experience managing senior executive requests with written and verbal communication.
- Structured, deep-dive approach to problem solving.
- Excellent cross-group collaboration and ability to influence outcomes in a matrixed environment.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, scheduling, time-management, and deadline-management skills.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Expected base pay range in the Toronto area: **CAD $96,000–$120,000**, excluding potential equity, bonus, and benefits.
