## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Provision, monitor, and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructure in new data centers.
- Perform remote server administration using IPMI/BMC tools, including provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and firmware updates.
- Configure network devices for greenfield deployments and brownfield migrations.
- Manage remote contractors for data center installations and upgrades, coordinating with hardware manufacturers, data center and network providers, logistics partners, and other service providers.
- Build automation with Python scripts and Changie to eliminate repetitive work and reduce operational toil, including through agentic AI tools.
- Plan and implement network and server installations, including facility power, cooling, security and access, rack layout, and cable management.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to remote contractors and junior team members during deployment activities.
- Create and maintain documentation, plans, SOPs, MOPs, and runbooks.
- Collaborate with infrastructure planning, network engineering, and SRE teams on operations and project planning.
- Coordinate global cross-connect installations supporting physical network expansion.
- Define, document, and implement consistent processes and standards across regions.
- Travel may be required on a limited basis.

## Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in data center operations, site reliability engineering, Linux systems administration, network engineering, and/or DevOps.
- Familiarity with data center operations tasks and projects.
- Experience with optical transport technologies such as CWDM/DWDM.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
- Knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and enterprise architecture.
- Experience writing network configuration and design documentation.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network and server infrastructure.
- Experience with remote lights-out and out-of-band access, including IPMI/BMC.
- Experience automating workflows and writing Python or Bash scripts for internal tools.
- Experience running and improving operational processes in rapidly changing environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience building or working with agentic AI tools for workflow automation.

## Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
- Experience executing data center or infrastructure projects with many moving parts.
- Experience installing or maintaining data center and IT infrastructure and DCIM tools.
- Understanding of BGP and anycast routing.
- Experience with Juniper Junos, Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS, Arista EOS, SONiC, Ciena, Nokia, or Infinera.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages and willingness to learn new ones.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience with basic program management, including prioritization, planning, scheduling, and status reporting using tools such as JIRA.
- Experience managing remote contractors.
- Professional network certifications such as JNCIP or CCNP.
- Linux certifications.
- Experience with continuous or rapid deployment.
- Experience in 24/7/365 mission-critical service environments, including on-call rotations.
- Knowledge of the OSI model and experience isolating network, hardware, and software issues.
