## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Develop and implement algorithms, systems, and architecture for high-DOF robotic systems in manufacturing environments.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and develop low-latency, robust interfaces for high-bandwidth, high-throughput sensor data.
- Develop computer vision and perception algorithms using multimodal sensing for 3D geometry reconstruction, segmentation, and inspection.
- Develop fast and robust high-DOF motion-planning algorithms in the presence of obstacles, using knowledge of kinematics and dynamics.
- Develop high-performance, production-ready software packages and systems using GPU programming and other hardware acceleration methods.
- Stay current with research and novel findings in robotics and artificial intelligence.
- Test and evaluate state-of-the-art algorithms and techniques for planning, learning, perception, and control.
- Maintain knowledge of the product and related hardware to provide technical assistance to internal and external teams at company and customer facilities.
- Identify and resolve complex and stochastic software issues through systematic debugging.
- Allocate approximately 40% of time to application-team support for proofs of concept, factory acceptance tests, and deployments.
- Travel to client locations as needed for on-site system-level debugging.

## Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a similar engineering discipline.
- 4+ years of industry experience developing, implementing, and testing algorithms for planning, learning, perception, or control.
- Experience developing complex function-based software that interacts with sensor inputs, control loops, and redundancy.
- Production-level proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Proficiency with ROS2 and relevant open-source robotics libraries.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Must maintain ongoing work authorization throughout employment.
- Must meet applicable U.S. export-control eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

## Nice to Have
- MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a similar engineering discipline.
- 7+ years of experience developing, implementing, and testing algorithms for planning, learning, perception, or control.
- Test-driven development and strong documentation skills.
- GPU programming and other hardware acceleration methods.
- Delivery of complete software products meeting rigorous functional and safety-critical requirements.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range of $134,000–$175,000 for new hires across levels in Los Angeles, CA.
