## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own financial strategy, capital planning, cash flow, runway, and capital needs.
- Advise the CEO and leadership team on pricing, resource allocation, and growth initiatives.
- Prepare board materials, investor updates, fundraising analyses, executive reporting, data rooms, and diligence processes.
- Build driver-based financial models for GMV/TPV, take rate, revenue yield, unit economics, and operating performance.
- Analyze payments revenue streams, including interchange, network fees, processor costs, and revenue-sharing agreements.
- Evaluate interchange-plus, buy-rate, and blended pricing structures, merchant profitability, cohort performance, and partner economics.
- Direct reconciliation and settlement accounting across ACH, RTP, FedNow, wire, and card-network payment rails.
- Own treasury, liquidity management, and payments-related capital requirements and licensing coordination.
- Lead annual budgeting, long-range planning, recurring forecasting, headcount planning, and operating-plan alignment.
- Oversee monthly close, accounts payable and receivable, treasury, bookkeeping, audits, tax advisors, banking partners, accounting policies, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, unit economics, and growth.
- Manage existing finance employees and build the finance team as the company grows.

## Requirements
- **7+ years** of experience in finance, FP&A, investment banking, strategic finance, or related fields, with exposure to accounting and controllership fundamentals.
- Experience in an early-stage or venture-backed startup, ideally as a founding or first finance hire.
- Hands-on ownership of fundraising processes, including data rooms, diligence, investor materials, or board reporting.
- Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of fintech or payments business models and operating drivers.
- Experience partnering with executive leadership and presenting to boards or investors.
- Track record of building scalable financial processes and reporting frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate financial insights into business recommendations.
- Ability to direct tactical work through others rather than owning every detail personally.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

## Nice-to-haves
- CPA, CFA, or MBA.
- Experience in payments, fintech, SaaS, or embedded finance.
- Familiarity with interchange, network fees, acquirer or processor pricing, and revenue-share models.
- Prior fundraising, investor relations, or corporate development experience.
- Experience building and managing a finance team from the ground up.
- Exposure to Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and/or SQL.
