## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Provide input on new transaction-monitoring rules and tune existing rules.
- Review AML and financial-crime alerts in transaction-monitoring queues and take appropriate action.
- Contact users to obtain information about account usage and transactions.
- Work with partner banks and internal teams to assess information received from users.
- Investigate and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from partner banks with clear, well-supported AML reviews.
- Make account decisions, including locking or closing accounts when necessary.
- Develop an understanding of expected activity for different user types.
- Document investigative findings and escalate unusual or potentially suspicious activity to partners for SAR consideration.
- Investigate tools and automation that improve investigative workflows.
- Document processes and train future teammates.

## Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience identifying money laundering, fraud, or other financial-crime behavior in banking, fintech, or financial services.
- Experience working with vendor and internally developed transaction-monitoring rules.
- Fluency with ACH, checks, debit cards, credit cards, and domestic and international wire transfers.
- Understanding of business banking, international activity, and ownership structures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Ability to manage external relationships with confidence and empathy.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills.
- Interest in automation, the US banking system, startups, and ecommerce companies.

## Compensation
- US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: **$121,700–$152,100 USD** base salary.
- US employees outside New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: **$109,500–$136,900 USD** base salary.
- Total rewards may also include equity and benefits.
