## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Navigate ambiguity by tackling the most complex and poorly defined problems, breaking them down for the organization.
- Champion systemic improvement by identifying and eliminating failure patterns across systems, driving architectural changes for scalability and reliability.
- Bridge technical gaps using deep cross-functional domain knowledge to align teams on major technical decisions.
- Define the AI frontier by building context and rails for safe, effective AI tool usage across the organization.
- Uphold engineering standards by setting the vision for operational excellence and mentoring senior engineers.

## Requirements
- Expert in building distributed systems.
- Comfortable guiding technical direction across Python/Django, React, Postgres, JVM languages, gRPC, and cloud-native infrastructure (AWS).
- Lead through influence rather than authority, acting as a role model for constructive communication and technical discipline.
- Anticipate future roadblocks and build systems supporting long-term business growth.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of high-level technical leadership.

## Nice-to-Haves
- Experience shaping platform data ecosystems for a single source of truth.
- Background in financial systems architecture, such as management fee accounting or multi-currency transactions.
- Track record defining company-wide engineering excellence standards to improve developer velocity.
