## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and grow a team of Commercial Applied AI Architects, setting standards for technical credibility, customer impact, and speed.
- Own hiring, interviewing, onboarding, performance reviews, goal setting, and career development for the team.
- Define qualification and prioritization frameworks for technical engagement across a large commercial customer base.
- Partner with architects on consequential customer engagements from discovery through deployment and expansion.
- Build technical playbooks for Claude API integrations, Claude Code rollouts, Agent SDK architectures, and Claude for Enterprise deployments.
- Convert customer wins into reusable demos, blueprints, tooling, and enablement assets.
- Partner with sales leadership and Account Executives on segment strategy, coverage, and the AE-to-architect operating model.
- Surface customer implementation patterns and provide actionable feedback to Product and Engineering.
- Represent Anthropic at customer sites, workshops, roadshows, and events, including through technical content and speaking.
- Keep the team current on agentic architectures, evaluation design, context engineering, and AI developer tooling.

## Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or Forward Deployed Engineer.
- 3+ years managing pre-sales or technical go-to-market teams.
- Experience hiring, coaching, providing direct feedback, and developing technical teams.
- Experience leading teams in high-velocity, high-volume sales environments and allocating scarce technical resources.
- Experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications and understanding the distinction between prototypes and production systems.
- Familiarity with agentic architectures, LLM evaluation, and modern AI developer tooling.
- Systems-oriented approach to creating scalable solutions.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
- Strong executive presence and ability to build trust with technical and business leaders.
- Passion for making powerful technology safe and societally beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience scaling a technical pre-sales or forward-deployed team, including hiring standards, onboarding, and coaching systems.
- Experience selling to and building for mid-market companies.
- Experience rolling out AI coding assistants or developer tools within engineering organizations.
- Technical presence through conference talks, written content, or open-source contributions.

## Compensation
- Annual compensation range: **$315,000–$380,000 USD**.
- For sales roles, the range represents on-target earnings and includes target commissions or sales bonuses and base salary.
- Hybrid policy: staff are generally expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time.
- Visa sponsorship may be available.
