## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Personally own high-priority searches across frontier research, infrastructure, and leadership roles.
- Source passive candidates through networks, cold outreach, and targeted campaigns.
- Close candidates competing with frontier labs, hyperscalers, and leading AI startups.
- Advise founders and hiring managers on candidate strategy, leveling, and offers.
- Design and operate sourcing programs for frontier research and elite systems engineering talent.
- Build closing playbooks focused on research autonomy, compute access, publication norms, equity, and mission.
- Establish recruiting tooling, data, and pipeline visibility for 60+ annual hires.
- Define and enforce the company hiring bar.
- Hire and lead a recruiting team while remaining hands-on.
- Build interview rubrics, calibration, debrief, and decision-making processes.
- Own recruiting operations, candidate experience, and reporting.
- Partner with finance and founders on compensation, leveling, and equity strategy.

## Requirements
- 5+ years of technical recruiting experience, including meaningful experience at a frontier AI lab, top AI startup, or elite technical company.
- Experience recruiting ML researchers, frontier research talent, or elite systems/distributed engineers.
- Ability to source and close passive candidates against competing offers from top labs.
- Track record owning senior and difficult searches end-to-end.
- Experience operating as a player-coach while building recruiting systems and teams.
- Strong judgment on candidate quality and leveling.
- High ownership, direct communication, and comfort partnering closely with founders.
- Ability to build a recruiting function from the ground up.

## Nice-to-Haves
- Experience as a founding recruiter, Head of Recruiting, or senior recruiting lead.
- Network in frontier AI research or GPU/ML infrastructure communities.
- Experience closing candidates against top AI lab offers.
- Familiarity with open-source ecosystems and their leading researchers and engineers.
- Experience scaling recruiting operations, tooling, and interview systems.
