## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, validation, demonstrations, architectural design, and Proof of Concept plans for enterprise customers.
- Map customer infrastructure and requirements—including DNS, CDN, Zero Trust, network security, and Workers—to Cloudflare architectures.
- Address technical objections, compliance questions, and complex architectural requirements during sales cycles.
- Define deployment strategies and oversee technical onboarding and implementation without directly executing the implementation.
- Create migration and onboarding blueprints, advise customer engineering teams on configuration best practices, and monitor technical health and deployment risk.
- Partner with Account Executives on discovery, demos, onboarding, account health, retention, and expansion.
- Carry a variable quota and identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities based on platform adoption and usage data.
- Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews for executive stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout onboarding, renewal, and expansion.
- Use AI agents, LLMs, and internal platforms to automate RFP responses, sandbox provisioning, telemetry monitoring, and documentation.
- Create technical workshops, standard operating procedures, architectural guidance, and customer and internal enablement resources.

## Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, customer engineering, professional services, sales engineering, technical account management, or forward-deployed engineering.
- Ability to design and clearly articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures.
- Excellent communication, presentation, consultative, and stakeholder-management skills, including communication with engineers and C-level executives.
- Experience in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environments and understanding of SaaS metrics and enterprise sales cycles.
- Depth in at least four of the following areas:
  - Internet fundamentals, including OSI layers 1–7, BGP, GRE, TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS
  - Internet security, including WAF, bot management, firewalls, rate limiting, mTLS, Zero Trust, and SASE
  - Internet performance, including latency, caching, video streaming, HTTP/2, and TLS 1.3
  - AI proficiency, including prompt engineering, AI-assisted scripting, log analysis, LLMs, and workflow automation
  - Coding and scripting with Python, JavaScript, Bash, Lua, Go, or similar languages
  - Developer platforms, including RESTful or GraphQL APIs, SDKs, webhooks, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

## Nice-to-Haves
- Experience delivering technical enablement such as workshops, code samples, documentation, or developer onboarding.
- Knowledge of LLM orchestration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures, and model-access controls.
- Understanding of PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
- Background with hyperscalers, digital-native companies, distributed systems, or startups.

## Compensation and Benefits
