> Employment Counsel will advise the People team on employment law, investigations, policies, compliance, and multijurisdictional workforce matters while supporting broader legal and governance needs. The role requires a J.D., U.S. bar admission, at least five years of legal experience, and meaningful employment law experience.

## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions, including workplace policies, performance management, investigations, leave and accommodations, wage-and-hour issues, employee relations, and separations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate offer letters, separation and settlement agreements, employment memoranda, and local-counsel engagement agreements.
- Respond to employment-related subpoenas and personnel-file requests.
- Design and operate compliance processes covering regulatory monitoring, training, policy review, audits, investigations, and compliance reporting.
- Support corporate governance, including subsidiary maintenance, director and officer matters, board and committee materials, and corporate records.
- Provide support across commercial, privacy, product, intellectual property, litigation, and other legal matters as priorities evolve.
- Use AI tools for legal research, drafting, issue spotting, analysis, and knowledge management while verifying outputs and protecting confidential information.
- Identify when matters require specialist review, additional legal review, or outside counsel.
- Partner with People, Finance, Sales, Product, Security, and other stakeholders to provide practical legal guidance.
- Build scalable playbooks, templates, guidance, and legal processes.

## Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 4–5 years of relevant legal experience in-house, in private practice, or both.
- At least 2 years of meaningful employment law experience, including employee relations, workplace policies, investigations, accommodations or leave, performance management, or separations.
- Experience supporting employment compliance, policies, training, investigations, audits, or related operational processes.
- Ability to work outside a narrow specialty and develop practical knowledge of unfamiliar legal issues.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools for legal research, drafting, or analysis, with a clear approach to verification, confidentiality, and responsible reliance.
- Experience supporting a global workforce or coordinating multijurisdictional employment matters, including work involving the United Kingdom or India.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate legal risk into actionable business advice.
- Sound judgment regarding risk, ownership, and escalation.
- Strong follow-through and a builder’s mindset.

## Nice to Have
- Prior in-house experience, especially at a high-growth, PE-backed, VC-backed, or B2B SaaS company.
- Experience with or interest in corporate governance or subsidiary management.
- Familiarity with privacy, data protection, AI governance, or technology-related compliance.
- Experience developing playbooks, knowledge systems, technology-enabled workflows, or scalable legal processes.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $127,697.25–$187,289.30.
