## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead the Trust & Safety Detection & Intelligence function, setting strategy, priorities, operating rhythms, success metrics, resource plans, and quality standards.
- Build scalable systems to identify, assess, and respond to fraud, abuse, coordinated activity, policy evasion, incentive manipulation, account abuse, and emerging threats.
- Own the detection rules layer and binding fraud determinations; prioritize detection and machine-learning requirements and determine whether observed behavior constitutes fraud or abuse.
- Connect detection and intelligence priorities to rewards economics, revenue integrity, partner trust, user trust, enforcement quality, and safe platform scalability.
- Improve detection logic, dashboards, analytical methods, automation, and analyst workflows to increase coverage, precision, and speed.
- Apply machine learning and automation to signal discovery, triage, detection quality, and analyst productivity when they measurably improve outcomes; validate accuracy before automating enforcement.
- Oversee complex investigations and intelligence programs that produce actionable findings and executive-ready risk assessments.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Legal, Policy, Product Risk, Partner Integrity, GTM, and Revenue teams to translate intelligence into durable product, policy, operational, and enforcement improvements.
- Establish measures for detection quality, investigation outcomes, enforcement impact, detection lag, operational health, and residual risk.
- Develop senior analysts, investigators, and future leaders while maintaining high standards for rigor, documentation, decision-making, escalation, and stakeholder communication.

## Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in fraud detection, investigations, threat intelligence, trust and safety, risk operations, cybersecurity, data analysis, or a related field, including leadership of complex programs with measurable business impact.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience managing senior analysts, investigators, technical individual contributors, or operational teams and developing high-performing leaders.
- Experience building or scaling detection and intelligence operating models, workflows, quality standards, reporting systems, and performance metrics.
- Strong analytical and technical fluency with large datasets, dashboards, SQL or SQL-like querying, case management and detection systems, and analytical tooling.
- Experience designing, writing, testing, tuning, and evaluating fraud rules or other detection logic.
- Track record of partnering across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Legal, Policy, and business teams to deliver scalable anti-abuse or risk mitigation solutions.
- Strong executive communication and judgment, including the ability to define ambiguous problems, align stakeholders, explain risk tradeoffs, and recommend clear action.

## Nice-to-haves
- Leadership experience in fraud detection, threat intelligence, marketplace integrity, payments risk, loyalty or rewards abuse, cybersecurity, or a related risk domain.
- Experience building detection systems, investigative workflows, escalation frameworks, automation, or operational playbooks in a scaled environment.
- Familiarity with rules-based detection, Python, graph analysis, anomaly detection, machine-learning-assisted workflows, or similar analytical methods.
- Track record of identifying emerging abuse patterns early and translating intelligence into product, policy, operational, partner, or enforcement improvements.
- Experience influencing senior leaders and balancing investigative depth, operational speed, enforcement quality, user trust, partner impact, and business objectives.
- Experience with capacity planning, roadmap prioritization, tooling investment, or budget ownership for a growing function.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive compensation package including base salary, equity, and benefits.
- Base salary range: **$176,323–$207,439**.
