## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead a full-stack engineering team comprising backend and mobile engineers.
- Act as a product-minded player-coach, balancing team management with hands-on technical contributions to build and iterate on early-stage products.
- Embed AI-native practices into planning, prioritization, execution, and engineering quality evaluation.
- Optimize workflows through AI automation while maintaining disciplined engineering practices.
- Coach and mentor engineers on effective AI usage.
- Own the team performance-management lifecycle, including expectations, feedback, calibration, leveling, and development planning.
- Partner with product and cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous business goals into technical roadmaps.
- Drive architecture and implementation of new features, breaking down complex problems and delivering scalable, high-quality code.
- Recruit and develop an engineering team and foster technical excellence and innovation.

## Requirements
- Bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership in an individual contributor or engineering management capacity.
- Ability to contribute to architecture and write clean, scalable code while mentoring others.
- Experience working with cross-functional partners, including product managers, analysts, and mobile and backend engineers.
- Experience leading teams that produce high-quality output on critical infrastructure.
- Hands-on fluency with AI-native engineering workflows and tools such as Cursor and Claude.
- Strong judgment in using AI for planning, coding, triage, and technical decision support.
- Creative, tenacious problem-solving ability and a get-it-done attitude.
- Ability to foster a positive, healthy, and challenging team environment.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: **$266,000–$326,000**.
- Equity and benefits included.
- Hybrid position requiring in-office work two days per week in Mountain View.
