## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day media relations, including pitching stories, fielding reporter inquiries, and building targeted journalist and outlet lists covering AI and cybersecurity.
- Write and distribute press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, bylines, talking points, and other press materials.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and freelancers while tracking beats and coverage patterns.
- Secure and manage interviews, briefings, and speaking opportunities; prepare spokespeople with talking points and Q&A materials.
- Monitor the news cycle and respond quickly to reporter questions, including breaking news and fast-moving stories.
- Track and report on media coverage, placements, and share of voice.
- Submit award and speaking applications and advise C-suite leaders on company positioning.
- Partner with Marketing and Product teams on launches, milestones, and newsworthy announcements.
- Monitor competitor and industry coverage to identify press opportunities and sharpen positioning.
- Maintain the press kit, boilerplate, media contact database, and FAQs.
- Support issues management by drafting holding statements and coordinating responses to sensitive inquiries.
- Assist with internal communications and company-wide announcements.

## Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or media relations.
- Experience or interest in technology, cybersecurity, or another fast-moving industry.
- Existing journalist and editor relationships, or a demonstrated ability to build them.
- Strong writing skills, including the ability to translate technical details into compelling media pitches.
- Ability to adapt tone across formats and audiences.
- Excellent organization and responsiveness while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to unexpected media inquiries.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn technical subject matter.
- Strong collaboration skills across Marketing, Product, and leadership teams.
