## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Negotiate enterprise customer agreements, data-licensing deals, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements from start to finish.
- Partner directly with sales and business development on live deals.
- Advise product and engineering teams on data access, privacy, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and regulatory issues.
- Handle novel and higher-risk matters, including AI output ownership, permissioning, and licensing structures.
- Build contracting processes, templates, playbooks, fallback positions, and approval thresholds.
- Implement company policies and compliance programs.
- Determine when outside counsel is needed and manage those relationships.
- Own legal matters independently and provide practical business recommendations and risk assessments.

## Requirements
- 5–8 years of sophisticated commercial, technology, or product counseling experience.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating technology agreements directly with counterparties.
- Membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
- Strong judgment, autonomy, escalation instincts, and ability to work effectively with engineers and sales professionals.
- Heavy, effective use of AI in legal practice.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not currently available.

## Nice-to-haves
- J.D. from a T14 law school or comparable academic credentials.
- Experience at an Am Law 100 or comparably sophisticated firm.
- Exposure to data licensing, privacy, intellectual property, or data-access matters.

## Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $301,000–$324,000 per year.
- Eligibility for up to $50,000 in semi-annual performance bonuses, totaling up to $100,000 annually.
