## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Forward Deployed Engineers delivering complex enterprise customer engagements across EMEA.
- Establish a high-performance team environment with clear expectations, technical standards, feedback, and career development.
- Own engagement quality and outcomes from discovery and requirements gathering through solution design, implementation, launch, and handover.
- Advise customer engineering, IT, security, and business leaders on architectural decisions and Notion adoption.
- Guide custom agents, integrations, automations, and data pipelines connecting Notion with customer systems and workflows.
- Oversee large-scale content and data migrations, including data modeling, transformation, validation, cutover, and optimization.
- Review technical designs and implementation plans, identify risks, and provide senior technical leadership when needed.
- Partner with Sales and Services on qualification, feasibility, scoping, estimation, staffing, and delivery planning.
- Define and scale operating models, hiring, onboarding, delivery methodologies, quality reviews, documentation, and engineering practices.

## Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, professional services, customer engineering, software engineering, or a similar hands-on technical role.
- 2+ years managing, coaching, or leading engineers responsible for customer-facing technical delivery.
- Track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing technical teams.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, JavaScript, Node.js, SQL, or Python.
- Experience with APIs, integrations, authentication, data transformation, and production systems.
- Experience leading technical discovery, feasibility assessment, risk identification, scoping, effort estimation, and requirements translation.
- Strong architectural judgment and debugging skills across code, APIs, permissions, integrations, data quality, automation logic, system limits, and customer environments.
- Experience managing multiple complex customer engagements while maintaining quality, team health, and stakeholder communication.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and business audiences.
- Customer- and outcomes-oriented judgment regarding standardization, customization, and tradeoffs.

## Nice to Have
- Experience building or scaling Forward Deployed Engineering, professional services, or customer engineering functions in startup or high-growth environments.
- Experience deploying AI agents in coding or business workflows.
- Experience with MCP, APIs, LLM applications, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, or workflow orchestration.
- Experience with ETL or ELT workflows, schema mapping, validation scripts, and large-scale migration tooling.
- Experience influencing product roadmaps or architecture based on customer implementation needs.
- Experience supporting pre-sales technical discovery, migration scoping, feasibility analysis, estimation, prototypes, and custom scripts.
- Experience establishing technical delivery standards, quality reviews, discovery methodologies, or internal engineering tooling.
- Track record of successful enterprise implementations across industries or regions.
