## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own the payroll deduction reconciliation queue, reviewing new and updated deductions before each payroll run and approving or escalating flagged discrepancies.
- Trace reconciliation errors to root causes across enrollment, premium, and payroll connection data, and drive upstream fixes.
- Partner with Engineering to scope and prioritize automation opportunities, including auto-approval rules, tooling, and monitoring.
- Manage escalations from payroll connection failures and invoice review queues.
- Build and maintain SOPs and audit trails for transparent, repeatable reconciliation decisions.
- Report on reconciliation accuracy and queue health, surfacing trends and risks to Operations and Finance leadership.

## Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in operations, financial or payroll reconciliation, or management consulting.
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with financial and payroll data to identify discrepancies and root causes.
- Experience designing or improving reconciliation, audit, or financial control processes.
- Strong independent judgment in ambiguous or high-stakes situations.
- Experience partnering with Engineering to translate operational needs into tooling or automation requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in Austin, TX.

## Nice-to-haves
- MBA or other advanced degree.
- Management consulting experience, particularly strategy or operations consulting.
- Experience with payroll, benefits, or fintech reconciliation systems.
- SQL querying experience or comfort scoping automation requirements with engineers.
- Experience in a high-growth startup environment.

## Compensation
- Estimated compensation range: $91,000–$120,000 USD annually.
