## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Design and code product experiences for Ashby’s recruiting platform.
- Work on challenging UX and UI problems across a complex product.
- Improve and expand the in-house design system, including flexible and composable components.
- Consult with Product Engineers on bespoke design work, information hierarchy, and scannability.
- Conduct customer-informed design work, wireframe new flows, implement design systems, and ship polished UIs.
- Build conviction by shipping to subsets of users and gathering feedback.
- Iterate on shipped features based on user feedback and business needs.
- Contribute to customer issues and investigations as part of the engineering team.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, design, recruiting teams, and company leadership.

## Requirements
- Professional experience practicing Ashby’s flavor of Design Engineering, whether or not under a formal Design Engineer title.
- Major contributions to a design system.
- Experience designing and implementing features used by hundreds of users and iterating based on user feedback.
- Excellent visual design taste and execution.
- Strong proficiency in both design and engineering, with exceptional proficiency in the discipline practiced full-time.
- Experience designing products and shipping code to hundreds of users.
- Ability to work independently with minimal process and take ownership of decisions.
- Strong collaboration and deliberate communication skills.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience designing and coding frontend product experiences.
- Experience working on complex, highly configurable software products.
- Experience gathering feedback from customers or internal users and incorporating it into shipped work.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $151,000–$246,000.
- Work remotely in the United Kingdom.
