## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Conducts translational human and animal research on pathogenesis and treatment of high consequence emerging viral infections (e.g., Ebola, Nipah virus).
- Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings.
- Coordinate the work of biological technicians and technologists and other scientists.
- Develops and maintains proficiency working safely and effectively in a biosafety level four laboratory environment.
- Provides technical experience needed to assist in studying the basic principles of plant and animal life.
- Assists with performing basic laboratory experiments and procedures.
- Prepares, organizes and maintains various lab samples, supplies, and equipment.
- Establishes and maintains accurate reliable sample inventory.
- Learns new laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Implements existing and assimilates new assays and techniques related to virology and immunology.
- Meet with lab members to present updates weekly.

## Requirements
- Master's degree in Microbiology or related field.
- Prior experience working in biosafety level 4 labs conducting virology and immunology assays.
- Familiarity with specimen storage and accountability.
- Skills in immunology assays.
- Skills in basic and molecular virology.
