## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Participate in accounting close activities, including:
  - Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline close processes, including flux analysis automation, enhanced reconciliations, and large-dataset automation.
  - Partner with legal, sales, and other teams to interpret, research, discuss, and process deal reviews.
  - Complete contract accounting for executed customer contracts.
  - Prepare and review journal entries.
  - Prepare and review reconciliations and related financial analysis for management and external reporting.
- Participate in company-wide AI-driven initiatives and cross-functional projects affecting revenue accounting, particularly initiatives that increase revenue analytics capabilities.
- Identify and implement AI-driven automation solutions to improve revenue-accounting workflows, efficiency, scalability, and reduction of manual effort.
- Evaluate operational processes using a clean-sheet methodology, generative AI, and advanced automation tools to streamline complex tasks and improve accuracy.
- Stay current on financial accounting, reporting developments, and applicable U.S. GAAP requirements.
- Mentor and support junior team members and provide feedback.
- Communicate problems to senior management in a timely manner.
- Present findings and solutions to management while considering global impacts and influencing consistent processes and policies across regions.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare schedules supporting the external audit process while using AI capabilities to streamline workbooks.
- Coordinate with auditors on accounting issues and audit-related queries.
- Review and maintain controls as processes, systems, and policies change, including risk assessment and review of risk areas.

## Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent advanced experience.
- Active CPA license.
- Four or more years of accounting experience.
- Proven ability to use AI and automation tools for process efficiency, data analysis, and workflow improvements.
- Strong understanding of revenue accounting rules under ASC 606.
- Experience with revenue-related systems, including billing systems, ERP, and revenue-recognition tools or subledgers.
- Experience with SaaS revenue recognition and multi-element arrangements.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple departments, particularly Sales.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under time constraints and deadlines.
- Meticulous, detail-oriented, and organized work style.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Highly proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel.

## Nice to Have
- Accounting or audit firm experience.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation may vary by work location.
- San Francisco estimated base salary: $131,000–$180,000.
- New York estimated base salary: $126,000–$173,000.
- Eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
