Product & Operations Lead, RFP Proposal Writer Product & Services

Responsibilities

• Own the RFP proposal writer product roadmap, requirements, users, and next product chapter with engineering and design.
• Launch and personally deliver the RFP Services offering for customers across K-12, higher education, cities, counties, and states.
• Recruit, train, and manage a remote freelance writing bench.
• Own quality assurance as service volume grows.
• Set pricing, packaging, margins, and the services revenue line.
• Build the outbound motion and sell alongside account executives and into the customer base.
• Turn proposal-writing work into product research, specifications, templates, and tooling.
• Close paid engagements, write live responses, hire freelance writers, establish outbound demand, and develop the product and services plan.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of product experience at a fast-growing company, or experience at a top consulting or finance firm, or equivalent.
• Strong academic record.
• Exceptional writing skills.
• Comfort doing the work personally before delegating it and building the team that takes it over.
• High agency and ability to create plans independently.
• Commercial instinct, including revenue, margin, and win rate.
• Interest in public procurement.

Nice-to-haves

• Proposal, RFP, or grant-writing experience.
• Public-sector exposure.
• Experience managing contractors or freelance teams.
• Experience automating work with AI.
