## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Partner with Server Query, Atlas Clusters, Release Quality, and other engineering teams to apply algorithmic rigor and optimization to resource scaling, release safety, monitoring systems, and query-engine performance.
- Research, prototype, and ship production-ready statistical and machine learning algorithms for MongoDB’s server, query engine, and Atlas cloud platform.
- Identify limitations, thoroughly test solutions, and demonstrate measurable business impact.
- Own the model feedback loop by instrumenting architectures with performance metrics, creating dashboards with analytics partners, collecting user and operational feedback, diagnosing issues, and iterating.
- Contribute thoughtful code reviews and internal packages, tooling, and processes that improve developer productivity.

## Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on machine learning model development while working directly with technical stakeholders.
- Experience independently owning the full machine learning development lifecycle, including prototyping, simulation, tuning, and iteration in deployment environments.
- Strong object-oriented Python development skills and experience designing scalable, readable codebases.
- Experience collaborating with engineers on machine learning system architecture.
- Ability to review, understand, and redesign production code.
- Strong communication skills, including explaining machine learning concepts and translating model efficacy into business impact.
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative or computational discipline such as computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, physics, or operations research.
