## Job Description

## Responsibilities

### Implementation Project Planning & Delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery of large, complex, multi-workstream implementations, including new market expansions and managed care organization (MCO) and provider contract launches, from kickoff through stabilization and handoff to ongoing operations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans with workplans, milestone schedules, resource plans, dependency maps, and critical path analyses.
- Establish and run implementation governance, including project charters, RACI and decision-rights frameworks, working group cadences, executive status reporting, and stage-gate reviews.
- Identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies; drive escalation and resolution to keep implementations on schedule and in scope.
- Manage scope, timeline, and budget across concurrent implementations, making trade-off recommendations to leadership.
- Lead post-launch retrospectives and incorporate lessons learned into processes, tools, and playbooks.

### External Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the senior implementation point of contact for MCO and provider partners.
- Lead presentations and joint implementation meetings, align delivery timelines and data exchange requirements, and manage executive-level communications and escalations.
- Guide partners through onboarding, workflow integration, and adoption of Waymark’s care model and technology.
- Build durable relationships with external partners that support contract expansion and long-term partnership success.

### Internal Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Orchestrate cross-functional implementation teams spanning clinical, product, engineering, analytics, quality, compliance, regional market leadership, partnerships, and finance.
- Partner with regional and market leaders to translate contract requirements into local launch plans while balancing standardization with market flexibility.
- Partner with product and analytics teams to plan and sequence Signal and other data product deployments and facilitate adoption by care teams.
- Drive alignment on implementation roadmaps, trade-offs, scope, sequencing, and accountability without direct authority.
- Provide clear status reporting to executive leadership, including milestone progress, risks, and decisions needed.

### Implementation Infrastructure & Team Leadership
- Build standardized playbooks, templates, launch checklists, success metrics, and operating rhythms for repeatable, scalable implementations.
- Define and track implementation KPIs, including time-to-launch, milestone attainment, and partner satisfaction.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing implementation team and develop project management capability across the organization.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

## Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare services implementation, program management, or operations, ideally in tech-enabled care delivery or value-based care.
- Track record of leading large, complex, multi-stakeholder implementations from planning through launch.
- Deep expertise in formal project management disciplines, including workplan development, milestone and dependency management, risk and issue tracking, governance, and status reporting.
- Experience managing relationships with health plans, provider groups, and other external partners, including executive sponsors.
- Ability to navigate competing priorities, negotiate timelines, and manage escalations.
- Experience leading matrixed, cross-functional teams and driving alignment without direct authority.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex programs into decision-ready updates.
- Experience implementing or deploying technology platforms and using data to guide operational decisions.
- Fluency with project management tools.

## Nice-to-Haves
- Passion for improving care for Medicaid patients.
- Experience with Medicaid managed care, MCO contracting, and data exchange.
- Experience launching new markets, contracts, or service lines in early-stage, high-growth environments.
- Formal project management certification, such as PMP or Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience building implementation functions, playbooks, and teams from the ground up, with a focus on individual development.

## Compensation
- San Francisco/Bay Area and New York City: $160,000–$229,000.
- Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Washington DC: $147,000–$211,000.
- Arlington, Denver, San Diego, and Sacramento: $141,000–$201,000.
